We are humanists, with a focus on naturalism and realism.
Our design focuses on physiology and our belief that knowledge comes from experience.
Our products are designed to empower not just women but EVERYONE. We celebrate the human body and the uniqueness of humanity. A belief that celebrates YOU, no matter how you identify yourself.
Our mission is to deliver artisanal and ethical handmade products with a creative twist. We take pride in our quality and crafting clothes that will last as long as you want them to.
The three foundational figures each embody one of our core series :
fai series : Aristotle the philosopher and realist.
eva series : Minerva the Greek Goddess of wisdom, arts, and textiles.
tie series : Raffaello Sanzio the adolescent mortal, and the artist behind the genius.
We have a naturalist perspective on form and technique, meaning almost all fibers used will be re-used through our re-cycling program. A reminder that your karma goes beyond how you treat one another, but also how you treat Mother Earth.
Lastly, we believe technology and clothing go hand in hand and are constantly looking for new ways to enhance sustainability and product quality.

Rafaiel was founded in New York by
Darcey Lehman.
She was born and raised in a small town in Michigan just north of Detroit and was introduced to textiles and fashion from a young age. Her passion evolved into a hobby and eventually a career. After many years of traveling, studying, & working between Italy & New York, she came to found rafaiel. Rafaiel compiles her strong beliefs in making ethical, creative garments that work with you.
